What you should know
Fall cleanup here is mostly pine straw and oak leaf, and it matters more than people think: a thick mat left over a centipede lawn through winter smothers it, and you find out in April when it greens up in patches.
Spring cleanup is the one that pays for itself. Getting beds cleared and cut back before the first real growth week means the whole season starts ahead instead of behind.
